The Cross Art Projects works collaboratively with artists, writers, curators and activists to cultivate contemporary art and curatorial practices that cross establishment grids and enable small-scale investigations. We work to the trope of crossing: artistic currents, disciplines, art and public issues and local affairs. The inflection is on shared dialogue and connecting art, ideas and people. Established in 2003 by writer and curator Jo Holder, the space worked in tandem with The Cross Art + Books. In November 2009 we are opening a street level project space in Llankelly Place, Kings Cross, Sydney.
